Mango Walk 

Fifth Grade created their own performance piece using a song we learned this year.  They helped develop each section and with their B sections took the opportunity to improvise using a pentatonic scale on the xylophones.  This group had some help creating the percussion part from our visiting Mary Pappert School of Music at Duquesne University Music Education students-teamwork makes the dreamwork!!

JINGLE BELLS!!

While it make look easy putting together this performance was one of the most difficult tasks we've done.  It was layered with a xylophone part, a drum ostinato & sleigh bells to keep the beat steady!  We added some singing, too of course!! (i helped out there a little!)  Hope you enjoy the kids' work!  They were very proud of themselves!

Fun in Music!

The kids have been working hard learning about syncopation patterns in music, but we wanted to take a break and have some Halloween fun with BATS!
The Canoe Song to help the kids sing, read and play a two beat syncopation pattern...and sing in parts...and play a game! :-)
