PMEA Elementary Sing Fest

Pittsburgh Youth Chorus
Singing Saturday

Congratulations to Gaby Bullman and Avery Herrington who represented WES at the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association Elementary Sing Fest this year in the Quaker Valley School District!  The girls spent a great deal of extra time rehearsing for this event and did a phenomenal job as part of this 130 member group!  The Sing Fest brings together about 130 students from school districts throughout our region to participate in a day of music making culminating in an evening concert.  We were very proud of the girls' efforts and how amazingly they represented our school!! CONGRATS!!!
Congratulations to Kelly Campion, Juliya Chemoriya, Kirsten Fohr, Molly Gorman, Katie Gruendler,  Kaitlyn McGeever, Anna Plunkett, Callie Siefert, Mackenzie Stout and Milana Valente who represented Whitehall Elementary at the Pittsburgh Youth Chorus’ Singing Saturday event on March 30.  Singing Saturday is a PYC sponsored event that brings together about 130 students in 4th and 5th grade from nine different school districts from around our area to form a choir for the day. This year the kids traveled to North Hills Middle School and spent the day working with Mrs. Angela Evans, their guest conductor for the day. They will spend the day rehearsing with the group culminating with a concert at 2:30 which finished with a combined piece with the PYC’s own Bel Canto singers. We are very proud of the girls and how well they represented Whitehall well at this event!  Thank you to the PYC for making this opportunity possible for our group!

Thank you to all of you who braved the cold to cheer on our kids at the Pirate Game!  I may be biased, but I thought the kids sounded spectacular!!!  Even though it was chilly, a good time was had by all!  Thank you again, and congrats to the kids on representing our school so well!!  Pictures and video below!

These 5 choir members have been selected to represent Whitehall Elementary School at two out-of-school events.  The three students above will be participating in Singing Saturday, a Pittsburgh Youth Chorus event to be held in April.  The ladies to the right are participating in the PMEA Elementary Sing Fest to be held in March at Carnegie Music Hall in Oakland.  We are very proud of all of them and know that they will represent Whitehall well at these events!  Congrats!!
